For terminal A arrivals, please go to the 2nd floor. You will walk across the sky bridge to the Rental Car Center. The Alamo Counter will be directly to your right after exiting the sky bridge.
For terminal B and C arrivals, Alamo is located by following the signage to the Air Train. Depart the Air Train at station P2 and proceed down the escalator to the outside where the signage will indicate a short walk to the Rental Car Center. Alamo will be located on the 2nd floor immediately up the escalator and to the right. Please proceed to the counter to be checked in.
Skip the rental counter lines and check-in directly by using Alamo's touch-screen kiosk. Check-in using the kiosk and a receipt-sized rental agreement is printed. You'll be directed to your rental car on the lot. At the exit booth, show the booth agent your rental agreement and driver's license - and simply drive away.
No need to visit the counter or kiosk. You can go straight to your car!
In order to take advantage of this optional free service, you'll need to activate Accelerated Check-in online then choose the 'Skip the Counter' option. You will be required to confirm your protection options, agree to the Rental Agreement Terms & Conditions and enter a valid credit card (no charge is made until you return your vehicle). Simply print your rental agreement to bring with you, and you are all set! Go directly to your car, show the booth agent your rental agreement and driver's license - and get on the road!
You can save time at the counter when you activate Accelerated Check-in online. Just provide your driver's license and contact information that are normally collected at pick-up and we will be ready when you arrive. You'll be on the road and on vacation before you know it!
Picking up your vehicle after the location closes is easy with Alamo. After Hours Pick-Up might require you follow a few additional steps, which you'll see in your confirmation email.
Returning your vehicle after the location closes is easy with Alamo. We'll tell you where to park it; just drop the keys in the dropbox and you're on your way!
Renter’s spouse or domestic partner who meet the same age and driver’s license requirements of the renter are authorized drivers at no additional charge. Any additional authorized drivers must appear at time of rental and meet age and driver’s license requirements. An additional charge of $15 per day for each additional authorized driver will be added to the cost of the rental, unless other contractual conditions apply.
A spouse or domestic partner is the only permitted additional driver on a rental secured with a debit card.

This reservation is being made with a Contract ID number (CID) assigned to a Corporate Account for use exclusively by its eligible renters. Use of this CID by individuals other than eligible renters is prohibited and may result in disciplinary action. Renters using this CID may be required to show proof of employment or authorization (such as a business card, current email with company domain, work order, etc.). Questions about acceptable proof of employment or authorization should be directed to your Travel Manager.
Travel into Canada is allowed. Renters traveling into Canada may rent the following vehicle classes: Economy through Full Size cars and Minivans.
Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) is not insurance. The purchase of CDW is optional and not required in order to rent a vehicle.
You may purchase optional CDW for an additional fee. If you purchase CDW we agree, subject to the actions that invalidate CDW listed on the rental agreement, to contractually waive your responsibility for all or part of the cost of damage to, loss or theft of, the vehicle. DW does not apply to damage occurring in Mexico.
When deciding whether or not to purchase CDW, you may wish to check with your insurance representative or credit card company to determine whether, in the event of damage to, or theft of, vehicle, you have coverage or protection for such damage or theft and the amount of your deductible or out-of-pocket risk.
*For rentals originating in California- CDW ranges between 24.99 USD and 74.99 USD per day depending on the type of vehicle rented.
For retail rentals only secured with Extended Protection within the cost of the rental (excluding any liability protection or insurance coverage provided under a commercial contract), the following shall apply:
Extended Protection (EP) (Where available): Owner provides Renter or any AAD with third party liability protection in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the vehicle (the Primary Protection). EP also provides additional third party liability protection, through an excess liability policy, with limits of the difference between the Primary Protection and a combined single limit of $1 million per accident for bodily injury and/or property damage to others arising out of the use or operation of the Owner rental vehicle by Renter or an AAD, subject to the terms and conditions of the policy. EP includes UM/UIM coverage for bodily injury and property damage (only where required by law for property damage) in an amount equal to the minimum financial responsibility limits applicable to the Vehicle (the Primary Protection), and additional coverage, through an excess liability policy, with limits for the difference between the statutory minimum underlying limits and $100,000 per accident (for rentals commencing in New York, UM/UIM limits are $100,000 per person/$300,000 per accident; for rentals commencing in Hawaii, the UM/UIM limits are $1,000,000 combined single limit) or state mandated UM/UIM limit, whichever is greater. OWNER AND RENTER REJECT ANY ADDITIONAL UM/UIM COVERAGE TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. EP, including UM/UIM benefits is provided only when Renter or any AAD are driving the Vehicle. No claim for UM/UIM may be made due to the negligence of the driver of the Vehicle. EP coverage is in effect only while another AAD or Renter is driving the Vehicle within the United States and Canada; coverage does not apply in Mexico. ADDITIONAL POLICY EXCLUSIONS INCLUDE: (A) BODILY INJURY OR DEATH TO RENTER, ANY AAD, OR TO THE BLOOD RELATIVES OR FAMILY OF RENTER OR AN AAD, IF SUCH RELATIVES OR FAMILY RESIDE IN THE SAME HOUSEHOLD WITH RENTER OR WITH AN AAD; (B) PROPERTY DAMAGE TO THE RENTAL VEHICLE; (C) FINES, PENALTIES, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (D) BODILY INJURY, DEATH OR PROPERTY DAMAGE EXPECTED OR INTENDED FROM THE STANDPOINT OF THE INSURED; AND (E) ANY OBLIGATION FOR WHICH THE INSURED OR THE INSURED’S INSURER MAY BE HELD LIABLE UNDER ANY WORKER’S COMPENSATION, DISABILITY BENEFITS OR UNEMPLOYMENT COMPENSATION LAW OR ANY SIMILAR LAW. (F) BODILY INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE EXPECTED OR INTENDED FROM THE STANDPOINT OF RENTER OR AADS. Note: Any UM/UIM benefits paid are included in the $1 million combined single limit EP coverage and in no way increase the combined single limit amount referenced above. As a customer, you have a choice as to how you would like to pay for fuel.
Option 1 - Prepay Fuel --This option allows the renter to pay for the full tank of gas at the time of rental and return the tank empty. The price is based on an estimate of current fuel prices and the average tank size for the car received. No refunds will be issued for unused gas.
Option 2 - We Refill. --This option allows the renter to pay Alamo at the end of the rental for gas used but not replaced. Price per gallon will be higher than local fuel prices.
Option 3 - You Refill. --This option allows the renter to return the vehicle with a full tank of gas to avoid extra fuel charges.
Customers who reside in the United States, U.S. Territories, or Canada
Customers who reside in the U.S., U.S. Territories, or Canada must present a valid, unexpired government-issued Driver’s license which includes a photograph of the customer. Digital licenses are not accepted. The driver's license must be valid for the entire rental period.
Members of the United States Armed Forces who are on active duty may present an expired home state license under the following conditions:
They also present an Active Military ID, and
They are in compliance with their military extension policy of the state which issued the license. These policies vary by state and customers are encouraged to check with the appropriate department of motor vehicles for more information.
Customers renting in Florida and presenting a Connecticut or Delaware license: As of July 1, 2023, certain, but not all, licenses issued by the foregoing states are considered invalid under Florida law and will not be accepted. Please check with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles to determine if your license is valid under Florida law. Customers travelling to the U.S. and Canada from other countries
It is important that customers check with the appropriate Department of Motor Vehicles in the States or Provinces in which they intend to travel to ensure compliance with their various licensing laws. Digital licenses are not accepted. The following practices are used to ensure the customer is presenting a facially valid license at the time of rental.
Customers traveling to the United States and Canada from another country must present the following:
Their home country driver’s license that is valid, unexpired and includes a photograph, and
If the home country license is in a language other than English (or French, for rentals in Canada) and the letters are English (i.e. German, Spanish, etc.) an International Driver’s Permit is recommended, but not required, for translation purposes in addition to the home country license.
If the home country license is in a language other than English and the letters are not English (i.e.alphabet is not an extended Latin-based alphabet like German or Spanish but is Russian, Japanese, Arabic, etc.) an International Driver’s Permit is required.
If an International Driver’s permit cannot be obtained in the home country, another professional, type-written translation may be substituted. In either case the home country license must also be presented.
Customers may not rent a vehicle solely with the International Driver’s Permit. The International Driver’s Permit is a translation of the individual’s home country license and is not considered a license nor is it considered valid identification.
Other requirements
Photocopies of Driver’s Licenses are not accepted
“Learner’s Permits” are not accepted.
Any license which, on its face, restricts the licensee to the use and operation of a vehicle equipped with a form of a breathalyzer apparatus is not accepted.
Temporary Driver’s Licenses may be refused if the renting location is unable to otherwise verify the customer’s identity or verify the authenticity of the temporary license. Additional Government-issued identification may be required.
Personal Effects Coverage (PEC) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, the PEC contained in the policy insures the personal effects of the renter, additional drivers or any individual who is traveling with the renter against risks of loss or damage. Benefits are payable in addition to any other insurance coverage the renter or passengers may have. This is a summary only. PEC is subject to the provisions, limitations and exclusions of the PEC policy underwritten by Empire Fire and Marine Insurance Company in the United States. The purchase of PEC is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by PEC may duplicate the renter's existing coverage. Alamo is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renter's existing coverage; therefore, the renter should examine their personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the coverage provided by PEC.

RENTER REQUIREMENTS AND FORMS OF PAYMENT POLICIES
RENTER REQUIREMENTS POLICY
All renters and additional drivers must be 21 or older. All renters must have a valid driver’s license. Individuals with learners’ or instructional permits are not eligible to rent. This is only a summary. For additional details, please reference the Driver’s License Information Policy.
AGE
The underage surcharge for drivers between the ages of 21 and 24 is $25 per day. Renters between the ages of 21 and 24 may rent the following vehicle classes: Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, and up to an Intermediate Size SUV.
DEBIT CARD/MONEY ORDER
Disembarking renters using a debit card or money order may rent all vehicle classes except Luxury, Large SUVs, and Exotic vehicles.
Renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary using a debit card or money order are subject to the following conditions:
the reservation must be made 72 hours in advance
the renter must qualify, in person, 48 hours prior to pick up by bringing the following documents: renters must present a utility bill with no past due balance or disconnect notice. Renters must also present one of the following items: paycheck or paystub or original declaration page from an active auto insurance policy. Utility bill(s) and paycheck or paystub must be originals and dated within 30 days and each must indicate the renter’s current home address
are limited to the following vehicle classes: Economy through Full Size cars, Cargo and Minivans, and up to an Intermediate Size SUV.
For customers using a debit card or money order at the beginning of the rental, no additional drivers are allowed other than the renter’s spouse or domestic partner.
If using a debit card for any amounts owed, the available funds in the account associated with Renter’s debit card will be reduced by those amounts. Additionally, Renter is responsible for any overdraft fees incurred.

INSURANCE VERIFICATION
At the time of rental, Renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary must provide evidence of a transferrable auto collision, comprehensive and liability policy for the following vehicle classes: Full Size Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury Sedan, Midsize Sport Luxury Sedan, Electric Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury SUV, Extended Luxury SUV, Electric Luxury SUV, Limo Van, and Corvette.

The Estimated Total for the rental on the Review & Reserve screen and/or in the email reservation confirmation will be charged to the form of payment provided by Renter. If the rental as reserved is modified, the estimated total amount for the rental may change and would still be charged to the form of payment provided by Renter.
At the time of the rental, Renter will sign a rental contract (the “Contract”) which applies to the rental and includes a Rental Agreement Summary and the Additional Terms and Conditions.
DEPOSIT AMOUNT
To account for Renter potentially incurring additional amounts owed under the Contract:
Disembarking renters using a money order will be required to provide a deposit of $600 at the time of the rental.
Renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary using a credit card will be required to provide a deposit of $400, or $850 for the following vehicles classes: Performance Sport, Full Size Luxury SUV, Electric Luxury SUV, Full Size Elite Electric Sedan, Midsize Sport Luxury Sedan, Full Size Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury Sedan, Electric Luxury Sedan, Premium Luxury SUV, Extended Luxury SUV, Limo Van, and Corvette.
Renters without a ticketed return travel itinerary using a debit card or money order will be required to provide a deposit of $600.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Renter must use an above listed form of payment for the deposit amount. The deposit amount will not be available for use by Renter and/or refunded to Renter until after the vehicle has been returned.
If Renter incurs additional amounts owed under the Contract, those additional amounts may be deducted from Renter’s deposit amount, if applicable. If those additional amounts are not deducted from the deposit amount, if applicable, they will be charged to the form of payment provided by Renter at the time of rental unless Renter provides a different above listed form of payment to be charged.
If using a debit card for any of the above amounts, the available funds in the account associated with Renter’s debit card will be reduced by those amounts. Additionally, Renter is responsible for any overdraft fees incurred.
Prepaid cards are not acceptable forms of payment at the time of rental, including for the deposit amount, but may be used to pay any amounts due at the end of the rental after the vehicle has been returned. Cash is not accepted.
In addition to one of the above listed forms of payment, credit cards with sufficient available credit which are listed on Renter's Profile or Loyalty Account (Emerald Club, E Club, etc.) will be accepted as payment for all amounts owed under the Contract.
All amounts owed by Renter under the Contract will be submitted (a) as an authorization to be a hold against and ultimately charged to Renter’s credit card or debit card, or (b) to be charged to Renter’s debit card.
Please read the Renter Requirements policy (see above) for additional details pertaining to the use of debit cards and general rental requirements at this location.
Renter may purchase Roadside Plus (RSP) from Owner for an additional fee. If Renter purchases RSP, Owner agrees, subject to the actions that invalidate Collision Damage Waiver, to contractually waive Renter’s responsibility for the cost to provide 24/7 roadside assistance (where available) which includes replacement of lost keys (including remote entry devices), flat tire service (if no inflated spare is available, the vehicle will be towed. Cost of a replacement tire is not covered by RSP), lockout service (if the keys are locked inside the vehicle), jumpstarts, and fuel delivery service for up to 3 gallons (or equivalent liters) of fuel if Vehicle is out of fuel. Roadside Plus services are only available in the United States and Canada. If Renter does not purchase RSP, or RSP is invalidated as set forth above, roadside assistance will be available, but standard charges will apply. RSP does not apply in Mexico. For roadside assistance call 1-800-803-4444. In CA, KS, MO, NV and NY, keys are not covered by RSP.
Supplemental Liability Protection (SLP) is offered at the time of rental for an additional daily charge. If accepted, SLP provides the renter and authorized drivers with up to $300,000 combined single limit for third party liability claims. If the renter accepts SLP, Alamo provides third party liability protection up to the applicable minimum financial responsibility limit and Zurich American Insurance Company provides excess third party liability insurance coverage from the applicable minimum financial responsibility limit to $300,000. This is a summary only. SLP is subject to the terms, conditions, provisions, limitations and exclusions in the supplemental rental liability insurance excess policy underwritten by Zurich American Insurance Company. The purchase of SLP is optional and not required to rent a car. The coverage provided by SLP may duplicate the renters existing coverage. Alamo is not qualified to evaluate the adequacy of the renters existing coverage; therefore the renter should examine his or her personal insurance policies or other sources of coverage that may duplicate the coverage provided by SLP.
Our TollPass Program is our electronic toll collection program which allows our renters to drive through electronic toll lanes and pay tolls electronically, without having to stop and pay cash. In addition, many toll plazas have converted to all electronic tolling and removed the option for travelers to stop and pay cash at toll plazas.

When you arrive at Newark Liberty International Airport, visit the Alamo rental counter for a comfortable vehicle and excellent rental rates. Follow the signs to the Air Train; the rental counter itself is at Station P3. Depart the Air Train at Station P3. After you leave the train, go down the escalator, and the rental counter will be on your left. When you return the vehicle to the airport, follow the National or the National/Alamo signs for Rental Car Returns. The Statue of Liberty on Ellis Island was a gift from the people of France to the United States in 1886, and it's recognized as a universal symbol of freedom and democracy. The statue became a National Monument in 1924 and is one of the most popular attractions in the area.
The view from the site is spectacular, and you can make online reservations to explore the Statue of Liberty and print your tickets at home. An elevator can take you to the statue's pedestal, and reservations to visit the Statue of Liberty's crown are also available. However, elevator access isn't available above the pedestal.
The Newark Museum is great for families, with interactive galleries, a planetarium, and beautiful art exhibits. You'll also find a Tibetan Buddhist altar consecrated by the Dalai Lama and the Victoria Hall of Science with more than 400 exhibits.
Miles of serene, winding paths, lakes, and streams make this park a great place to spend an afternoon. You'll also discover a roller-skating rink and several historic buildings and bridges.
Here, you can explore the laboratory where Thomas Edison invented the phonograph, movies, and more. The lab has three floors, and you can watch a film made by Edison in 1903. You can also see Edison's mansion nearby.
The Staten Island Children's Museum offers a broad choice of exhibits, programs, and special events. Kids can see art exhibits, play with life-size chess or checkers pieces, build their own log cabins, act on a kid-sized stage, and try on an exoskeleton, among other activities.
